Be careful when you go to the Victoria, BC, Canada Museum. There are some big and dangerous sea lions and seals there – as well as a rough and tumble crow ;)

Things To Do In Victoria B.C. Canada: Royal London Wax Museum

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

At the heart of the tourist area of Victoria, on Vancouver Island is the Royal London Wax Museum. For a small fee to get at least equivalent to a moment of history and fear.

We went to visit the museum. But we had some time to kill, and is a good thing we did. We had a great time. The place is really very misleading. When we saw all the rooms were a couple and what they call copyright row. Here they had wax dummies of many of the objections England. The most popular is the dummy of Princess Diana. After seeing the line of thought was right. And they were angry. We were really thinking about asking our money. But in the end was a door on the right. Passing through the door, we learned that there was more to the museum than we thought before.

The different areas of the museum mannequins contents. Some of the areas where they are free of wax dummies rights row of the leaders of England Royalty past and present, great, where are the famous leaders of the world as Mahatma Gandhi, the galaxy of stars, where celebrities such as Elvis Presley, Storybook Land, where the dummies have some favorite fairy tales, and the chamber of horrors, which shows in detail the methods used to torture and imprisonment in the course of history.

Our favorite is undoubtedly the Chamber of Horrors. We enjoyed it more than the history lesson for Dummies. The scenes were shown and a brief explanation of what is shown. Some of the screens were the Pit and the Pendulum. It is an instrument of torture in which the prisoner is provided on the back and tied in a ditch. A sharp blade is then oscillate back and forth like a pendulum to reduce the prisoner. As the blade cuts the prisoner to get lower and lower until the person is reduced by half.

Torture was another interesting display hook. This was a large metal hook sharp with the prisoner was beaten. He will remain there suspended in the air until he bled to death. It would take several hours to die this way. As you read this, probably surprised that human beings can be so cruel to one another. But when you see the screen, almost makes you sick. The wax mannequins are not exactly like life, but very close. And the shows are very frightening.

Leaving the prison chamber of horrors, to go into the Storybook Land, with dolls of Walt Disney and Alice in Wonderland. What a change. Horror stories. The display of the Last Supper was very good too. That was my second favorite after the camera tracking of horrors.

While I am not impressed by the wax figures in the wax museum, we had fun.

And when you leave the museum ends in the gift shop / candy. This store has several English favorite candies. There were plenty of great deals here not available elsewhere. You owe it to yourself to check.
